Gina over at The Shabby Chic Cottage is hosting a Feathered Friends Party.
Interestingly, it wasn’t until a couple years ago that I realized how many bird-related decor items I have bought for my home through the years. I don’t consciously go seeking them out, but I suppose I am drawn to them, nevertheless, since they are in the majority of my rooms.
Allow me show you what I mean…
A romantic pair of white doves roost atop my china cabinet in the dining room.
In my living room…
There is lots of evidence of feathered friends in my garden inspired family room…
In the kitchen, a Marjolein Bastin refrigerator magnet…
I am well aware that wallpaper borders are considered “out” but I still have a soft spot in my heart for some of them in certain applications. Until about 2 months ago, I had this border on my kitchen soffit but I somewhat reluctantly took it down in preparation for my crown molding project (which I will be showing soon…PROMISE!).

Hi Shari! First I have to tell you that I still have a couple of borders too. Yes, they are out of style but I still like mine. Your grandparrot is so cute! Love the cage too.

I love your birds, Shari! We do have that same little birdhouse picture, don't we? I love them all, but my vote goes to Finnegan...he's just so handsome, I can't resist! Just heard about the birds of a feather, and I have a few, so I'm joining in next week.

Well, I simply adore all of your feathered friends! I just love that little reddish colored birdhouse with all the pretty flowers painted on it...and I also really like that art print of the ivy in the clay pot with the sweet bird and nest! I love that print...I'll have to look and see if I can find one! I also really enjoyed seeing your coastal bath...is that a wall paper border with the beach and seagulls? It's really pretty and I have to tell you that I just love the pretty tile mouldings in that bath photo!!! I also really like your pretty garden border in the kitchen...so sorry that you had to take it down but how glorious to get crown moulding!!! I'm still working on my honey to put up crown moulding for me...it just adds so much character to the bones of the house! I'll be watching for that post when you get yours up and finished!!!

Such sweet birdies! That cloche filled vignette is just precious! I don't consider any decor "out." If I like it, it goes in my house, no matter what the current trend may be!
