- I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 50 years. We have one beautiful and precious daughter, age 41. After more than 37 years in the workforce, I was fortunate enough to be able to quit my job in 2007 and stay home. As a natural born homebody and "nester," this opportunity to be a full-time homemaker has brought me immeasurable contentment and happiness. I thoroughly enjoy spending each and every day in the cozy comfort of "My Cottage of Bliss."
The City Girl Goes Country!
About the "House in Hooterville": In October 2009, we bought a 30 acre horse farm in a small country town approximately 45 miles from the city where I have lived my whole life. Join me, a city girl through and through, as I try to simultaneously adapt to country life in "Hooterville" and redecorate the 1978 brick ranch-style house on the property into My (new) Cottage of Bliss.

What a beautiful couple you two were and still are! DH and I were high school sweethearts too! We are starting our 50th year together. We were married 8/28/60 and dated three years to the date of our wedding. We started at 15/16 and now are 68/69. Been an incredible journey. Leaving for Winter Haven, Florida, at the end of the month. Boy, I would love to meet you and see your new Hooterville Farm.

Oh, Shari, how adorable your wedding photos are! You were a beautiful bride...beautiful dress and lovely wedding party. Aren't those great memories? I laughed when I read that it seems like yesterday but on some days, its more like 137...I feel the same way! Still, 37 years is such a blessing...to stay together in this day and age is truly a miracle...or maybe its just committment...which is a miracle!
