Gotta Love Craigslist!

I have been a devoted Craigslist shopper for a couple years but Craigslist has really played a significant role in changing the lives of my family in the past few months.
Believe it or not, Daughter found the house in Hooterville through a Craigslist ad!
We’ve also been able to get some great deals on things we needed for the farm.  Hubby bought his tractor, a trailer and a shed off of Craigslist.  Through Craigslist he found the guy who installed all of our fencing.
Last week we even bought another barn off Craigslist!
Two years ago, a local building contractor built a 12 stall barn on  his property.  Unfortunately, he has now fallen on hard times and foreclosure of his 40 acres is imminent so he  recently advertised the barn  for sale on Craigslist, hoping he could recoup some of  the money he spent building it, rather than lose it in the foreclosure.  We saw the ad, called, went to see it and struck a deal with him to take it apart, transport it to our property and rebuild it for us.
In these photos, he has already started dismantling it so it takes a bit of imagination to visualize what it will look like once it’s done.   There is a second story apartment, complete with French doors that open onto a deck.  We will more than likely use the apartment as a lounge/rec room for the people who board their horses with us.

Here, the stalls are coming down.

This would be the view standing in the center aisle and looking up toward the back of the second floor apartment.

Of course my current house contains numerous pieces of furniture I have bought through Craigslist but within the last week I have also purchased a couple pieces  for the new house as well.
After a couple  months of searching everywhere for a French Country dining table and chairs, I finally found one on Craigslist that had a table the right size to fit perfectly in the breakfast room.    I also bought the pretty green-stained hutch from another Craigslist ad!

I had originally seen the hutch advertised on Craigslist in early November and set up an appointment with the seller to see it.  At the last minute…like 1 hour before I was to meet her…she called me and said her aunt was going to take it.  I was so disappointed but told her if she changed her mind,  I would like for her to contact me.  A few days ago, I got an email from her wanting to know if I was still interested in it.
HECK YEAH!
Love it!   Love it!   Love it!

Now I just need to find a black iron chandelier to hang over the table, some blue & white dishes/accessories for the hutch, artwork, and a rug!

Excellent finds - I too have found many, many wonderful things through Craig's List, as well as Ebay. I live near a large city and the selection of items for resale is wonderful. If you have the patience, you will eventually find just about anything you're looking for.

PS - LOVE the hutch!

What wonderful things you've found! I love the barn and the idea of having the lounge available to your boarders. But what I really like best is your hutch and your dining set. You are beginning to make progress toward the beauty you first saw in your new home. Can't wait to see more!

What a wonderful barn! It will be a great addition to your horse ranch. I adore the table and chairs!!! They are gorgeous. Wow, and then the buffet and cabinet (can't think of the right word for it) they are GREAT!!! Good for you, Shari, it looks like it is coming together. I really like your inspiration picture for it. I looked at the last post to remind me. It is going to be so wonderful! I can't wait to see the end result! Hugs, Cindy S.

You are so lucky. I don't think our craigslist is that good. Everytime I go to ours I see overpriced items or dealers selling there things at high prices. I keep hoping to find a deal though.
