Good-bye Summer

Labor Day weekend.  It’s sort of the unofficial end of summer.  How can summer be almost over already when it seems like it's barely begun?

Saying good-bye to summer always puts me in a bit of a melancholy mood.  Summer is my favorite season.  In a perfect world, I’d be living in a cute little beach cottage and it would be summer all year long.

But, as the old saying goes, “All good things must come to an end.”

Good-bye Summer.   ::sniff sniff::

Shari..
I for one, beachy girl at heart, am not ready to say goodbye to summer..
but the good Lord and Mother Nature seem to outweigh my wishes and wants..
the high in Denver today was 71!!
current temp is 57 with an expected low of 44!!!
so, I guess I'll just wave a tearful goodbye as I pull on my flannel jammies..
but I will leave the window open..
warm sandy hugs..

I'm with you all the way on this one Shari. I live in Michigan and the summers here are WAY to SHORT!! I enjoy Fall, but knowing dreadful winter is just around the corner. The thing I hate about it is the long nights- gets to dark to early.... four a clock seems like 10 or 11 at night. Yikes!

Have a Great Day*

The end of summer means back to the classroom for me. I love teaching, but I also love the freedom summer affords. The end of summer also means that the long, gray, rainy days in the Pacific Northwest are soon to come.

I love the Fall, but I too hate to see most Summers end. Not this one though. It has just been too hot and humid here in WV. I think we broke the record many times over this Summer for the hottest days.

There is still plenty of summer left down here!! Come on down!! I HAVE to go to the beach this week. I have been working on stuff for my shop and haven't been in a few weeks. We did pop over the other day to see the big waves that hurricane Earl was creating. 8-10 ft on Daytona Beach. Pretty cool!
I'll post some pics soon!
Sympathy hugs to you. I am starting to decorate for fall, but can still enjoy summer outside!!
Blessings,
Becky
