Chippy, distressed paint and a cracked seat do not diminish the beauty and charm of this hand-painted stool I purchased off eBay several years ago. The artist is Sherry Gautreau (aka eBay seller: “Sherrygeau”).
Shari, I LOVE that stool! Now, you know it would look gorgeous in MY house, right? hee-hee. I didn't get my chippy paint post in today, but I'm glad you did...it's beautiful! xoxoxox!

Shair, it is stunning! Such a great find! I have several chippy pieces that I would love to have as beautifully painted as your pretty little stool. I cannot paint to save my soul!
I stumbled across your blog and found it enchanting! I too am finally doing what I love best also, restoring and painting furniture! Your list of "Inspirational People" has given me lots of wonderful reading time, it is wonderful to see the beautiful ideas people have. I appreciate your creativity and your blog!
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 50 years. We have one beautiful and precious daughter, age 41.
After more than 37 years in the workforce, I was fortunate enough to be able to quit my job in 2007 and stay home. As a natural born homebody and "nester," this opportunity to be a full-time homemaker has brought me immeasurable contentment and happiness. I thoroughly enjoy spending each and every day in the cozy comfort of "My Cottage of Bliss."
About the "House in Hooterville": In October 2009, we bought a 30 acre horse farm in a small country town approximately 45 miles from the city where I have lived my whole life. Join me, a city girl through and through, as I try to simultaneously adapt to country life in "Hooterville" and redecorate the 1978 brick ranch-style house on the property into My (new) Cottage of Bliss.
