“Mom Makes Everything GREAT!” …. Or Does She?

With this post, I am joining in Foodie Friday over at Designs by Gollum

Foodie_Friday_Logo_2

The theme this week is “Train Wrecks and Bloopers” in the kitchen.  Be sure to pop over to Gollum’s lovely blog and check out the other bloggers who have experienced mishaps while cooking.  But apparently not everyone has experienced klutzy kitchen moments so there are some great recipes offered too.

I often get many compliments from family and friends about what a good cook I am.  However, I felt the ultimate compliment was when Daughter gave me a cute  potholder for  Christmas the year she was in the 6th grade.

It said,  “Mom Makes Everything GREAT!

Awwwww…..isn’t that just the sweetest?

Unfortunately, there was a little…ummm…shall we say…“accident”…with that particular potholder.

It caught on fire when I got it too close to one of the burners on the stove.

Oops!

Obviously I don’t use that potholder anymore but I still keep it because it warms my heart to think my sweet girl apparently thought I could do no wrong…at least in the kitchen.

The irony of it also  makes me laugh and blatantly  reminds me that life is full of train wrecks and bloopers … in and out of the kitchen.

Now come back tomorrow and I’ll share one of my GREAT recipes with you.

Just kidding!!

***Don’t forget I’m having  a big giveaway as part of the 3rd Annual Cottage Charm Giveaway DayPrize winners will be selected on May 30th  so you still have time to get your name into my drawings, as well as drawings of the 40+ other bloggers who are participating in this giveaway event .

That is a scream! LOL!

I have an apron that says, "Many have eaten here, few have died!" I'm the Casey Jones of trainwrecks, but I keep on keepin' on! :-)

I AGREE WITH THE FRAMING SUGGESTION. IT WOULD CERTAINLY GENERATE A LOT OF CONVERSATION WITH QUESTS AND WOULD MAKE YOUR HEART SMILE EVERY TIME YOU LOOKED AT IT.

Oh my! YES, I remember you too from RMS.......first of all, I tried to sign up for SusieHomemaker, but it was already taken....***sigh***..but I also remember you for your charming additions to the site.

I'm still sort of new at this too. I signed up a long time before I actually did my first post. It was soooo complicated, but I'm starting to get the hang of it now. I've had so much fun and have met the MOST lovely ladies here. I've been inspired by the pictures, but also by the posts themselves. Some gals......LIKE YOU.......really have a way with words. I'm so envious!.....

I'm so glad we bumped into each other...I'll be coming back for sure.

Warm blessings,
Spencer
