Progress

After 2 very long days of working to remove  that 8’ x 8’ area of really stubborn wallpaper, it’s finally off!   Gone!  I should have just rented a wallpaper steamer to start with but I kept thinking it wasn’t worth it for such a small area….I didn’t have that much more to do…etc.  Ha!  Live and learn.
So I went from this mess…

…to this.    It looks better already with just a coat of primer on it!

I’m off to Lowe’s today to buy the paint.  Can’t wait to show you what color I finally decided on (after much waffling back and forth).

Yay! You did it! Great job! I know that is such hard work. Now you need to go out and buy yourself something for the room as a reward! :-)

Lookin' GOOD girlfriend!!
Pat yourself on the back for
all your effort! Believe me, I know, a small area can kick your butt, but it's all worth it when you're done.
I can't wait to see the finished room!! :0)
I hope you have an absolutely WONDERFUL and safe 4th of July!

I had to start a new blog, my other one had some problems that were over my head to fix.
I hate that! So stop by and say hey if you get a chance. I'll be checking back to see your room and it's dazzling transformation!!

Hi Shari,

Oh, how I remember trying to get wallpaper off. When we first moved into the house I put wallpaper border close to the ceilings in every room. Big mistake. I started to hate it. I decided when it was time to repaint a room I would take it off.

I could not believe how hard it was. Well the first room was easy, but the second was all pain.

I bought the liquid that they say will make it come off easy,no way. Someone told me about renting a machine to take it off and than a neighbor said she used a steamer that she uses on her clothes. I did that and it came off.

I like the border in one room and it will stay, but I have one more room that has it and next year I am going to take it off.

So I know what a mess and trouble it can be.

Can't wait to see what color paint you choose.

Oh, I feel your pain. I have a whole wall like that. I have used fabric softener, DIF, a professional steamer, you name it. I peel off a sliver of paper at a time.

Someday, I'll get it done and NEVER use wallpaper again.

Congrats on getting yours done.

Looks like you will be busy, it is such a wonderful feeling when it is all done. I have done jobs like this and you seem to never think it will end. It does and you will probably never use wall paper again LOL. Hugs
